Les variables d’influence de la participation aux élections: Essai de modélisation


Abstract:

La contribution active des citoyens à la vie politique se manifeste essentiellement par leur participation aux élections. Dans tout processus électoral, même ceux qualifiés de libres et justes, la participation des citoyens reste affectée par divers facteurs. Ainsi cette communication se propose d’identifier les principaux déterminants de la participation aux élections et de proposer un modèle théorique explicatif de cette dernière. L’examen de la revue de la littérature en la matière a permis d’identifier, d’une part, l’impact des variables individuelles, contextuelles et institutionnelles sur la participation, et d’autre part, de spécifier les conséquences attitudinales et comportementales des mauvaises pratiques électorales sur la participation aux élections à travers la confiance et l’efficacité politique. Nous avons aussi mis en évidence l’impact de l’achat de vote sur la participation aux élections.
